CLIMBING WITH KIDS – Djurite/Mt Arapiles (TRIP FULL)

Mount Arapiles 27 Sep 2019 — 29 Sep 2019

Join the VCC & WVCC in an enjoyable ‘long weekend’ of family climbing at Arapiles on the Grand Final ‘Long Weekend’. This trip is now FULL.

Camping at Upper Gums, just north of the Pines Campground at Arapiles.

We will visit a progression of cliffs for younger children, as well as more challenging cliffs for older teens and parents to enjoy. The trip leader has experience with progressing kids climbing and is keen to assist parents in finding and enjoying a variety of sites well suited to family climbing.

Climbing will be top roping. We will set these top ropes up with the assistance of families.

Your own climbing equipment will need to be provided. The minimum gear required is a rock-climbing helmet, harness, sling and carabiner. (No bike helmets; we will have some spare rockclimbing helmets to share over the weekend)

Climbing shoes are not essential for younger climbers, firm fitting sand shoes are fine.

If you are interested in joining this trip, or would like some more information, please contact Adam Merrick, the Trip Leader. As numbers are strictly limited, it is essential that you contact the Trip Leader PRIOR TO THE TRIP to secure places on this popular trip. Priority will be given to VCC and WVCC members.

This Annual Club Event is a joint VCC and WVCC trip.
