Dog Rocks & Wabbit Wocks, Mt Alexander

Dog Rocks and Wabbit Wocks, Mount Alexander 21 Sep 2019 — 22 Sep 2019

Mount Alexander in Central Victoria offers a good range of granite climbing for Melbourians, usually escaping on day trips. But this Club trip comes with a difference – an opportunity to climb at two of the best crags in the area over a weekend. We’ll be visiting Dog Rocks and Wabbit Wocks on alternate days and camping nearby. This trip is a VCC and WVCC joint event.

These two crags provide a mixture of classic granite slabs, aretes and cracks suitable for all levels of experience. There’s a variety of crack lines to get your jam on, whether you are new to crack climbing or after a challenge. There’s also slabs to slither up and a short but memorable arete to balance and slap your way up! There’s some face climbing, and throw in a chimney and a corner for good measure. This trip will give you the opportunity to try a variety of climbing styles and maybe learn some new techniques or skills while you’re at it. Climbing on granite always provides learning opportunities!

This trip to Mt Alexander will provide climbing opportunities for all experience levels. Beginners are welcome on the trip, however beginner positions may be limited.

It is essential to contact Peter prior to the trip to secure your place and get more information.
