Mt Rosea / Bundaleer Trip
Bundaleer, • 15 Mar 2025 — 16 Mar 2025
Mt Rosea and Bundaleer are some of the classic trad cliffs of Victorian climbing. The plan is to climb at Mt Rosea on Saturday and at Bundaleer on Sunday.
NOTE: Both crags are currently CLOSED after the recent fires. If they’re not re-opened by the middle of March, we’ll be visiting some other crags.
Mt Rosea offers some fantastic multipitch climbing on or just below vertical rock. The main cliff is about 90-120 metres high and has a uniform steepness that makes climbing quite sustained. To enjoy leading at Rosea you should comfortably lead grade 13-14 and the cliff really shines for those climbs between grades 15-22. Some of the classics are: Debutante (15), Heretic (17), Diane (18) and The Ascension (21).
Bundaleer provides some really stunning and atmospheric climbing from grade 12 and up. Climb some of the classic multipitch climbs on superb rock, such as Scarab (12), The Minch (12), The Frog (16), Basilisk (16), Odysseus (17), Gerontian (17) and many more …
This is an intermediate to advanced level trip. The number of intermediate climbers will be limited, depending on the number of experienced leaders who come along. All intending participants must contact Peter Upton, the Trip Organiser, prior to the trip. Please send through some details about your experience and climbing gear and hopefully we’ll see you there.
Camping details will be available from Peter.
Car-pooling will be facilitated using a google spreadsheet for those who are interested. This is optional and each individual needs to make their own risk assessment regarding COVID and choosing to car-pool.
Not sure if you’re novice, intermediate or advanced? Find your level or contact the trip leader.
