Sports Climbing 202 – Dreamtime Wall

Dreamtime Wall, Serra Range, Grampians, Victoria 14 Nov 2015 — 15 Nov 2015

Another trip to a sports crag to follow-up the recent club trip: Sport Climbing 101.
Leave your trad rack at home and come along and practise your sports climbing skills at one of the newest, and biggest, sports crags in Victoria ? Dreamtime Wall. Situated in the Serra Range in the Southern Grampians, Dreamtime has a large number of sport routes with a very wide range in grades.
This is the perfect crag to get some mileage or to push your grades. There are some really short routes, as well as many long routes ? including the longest sport route in the Grampians!

As with the Sports 101 trip, the focus will be on leading, not seconding. This trip is about taking the next step and pushing your leading on sport routes. Come prepared to fall! The routes at Dreamtime are generally not as steep as on the Sports 101 trip, but they still require a fair bit of endurance. In the terms of VCC Club Trips, you need to be an Advanced Climber.

Josef Goding, the main developer of the crag, will be coming along on the trip. He will act as our personal ‘crag guide’.
You can access all of the latest routes at Dreamtime via his comprehensive online guide which is being constantly updated: http://www.rockmaster.com.au/index.php/sublime-climbs/resources

Prerequisites
Is this trip for you? If you can lead outdoors already, and can climb the steeper walls in gyms, then this trip is for you. The prerequisite is that you need to be able to climb in the grade range 17 ? 20 on the steeper walls in gyms. This will mean that you have the climbing skills and endurance to lead the routes on the trip.

All intending participants must contact the Trip Leader, Michael, prior to the trip as we will be bush camping near the crag.
Places on this trip may be limited.
