Werribee Gorge – Falcons Lookout

Werribee Gorge 10 Apr 2022

Trip Leader Jason Jacobs

ALL participants on VCC club trips must show proof of double vaccination, or a valid medical vaccine exemption certificate, to attend. Please read the information about the procedures regarding COVID below before contacting the trip leader.

Come along and hopefully enjoy perfect ‘autumn conditions’ at one of Melbourne’s popular ‘day-trip’ crags. Plenty of single pitch climbs with a range of grades – there’s sure to be something to interest you. Werribee Gorge is also an excellent crag to learn or practice the art of ‘crack climbing’.

Jason is happy for climbers with a range of abilities to join him on this trip. However, Beginner numbers will be limited, depending on the number of experienced climbers coming on this trip. (Beginner and Intermediate Climbers; see the link to VCC Levels below). More independent climbers who are experienced leaders are encouraged to come along as well!

All climbers MUST contact Jason prior to the trip to come along on the day. There is a limit of 20 participants for this trip.

The minimum climbing equipment needed by all participants includes:  climbing shoes, harness, helmet, screw gates and a safety sling. Walking boots or solid footwear is recommended for the rocky walk-in.

Contact the Trip Leader, Jason Jacobs, if you are interested in attending this club trip.

To sign in on the trip, all participants must complete and sign the VCC Trip Register and show the trip leader their vaccination certificate. These measures have been implemented by the VCC Committee to ensure the safety of participants and leaders, as well as expedite COVID-19 contact tracing if necessary.

During these COVID times, all VCC Events and trips may need to be cancelled at very short notice. If this trip goes ahead as planned, it is essential that all intending participants contact the leader prior to the trip, as well as read all of the documents referred to below. Members cannot just ‘turn up’ on the weekend. If the public health advice changes, there may be additional restrictions applicable to this trip.

It is important that all participants read the VCC COVID-19 Safety Plan and VCC Advice to Participants on Club Trips, Courses and Activities before signing up for this trip. The advice and guidelines have been published on our website:
